Re-Source 3
Registration is now open for Re-Source 3, a professional development workshop at Aljira, a Center for Contemporary Art in conjunction with the Newark Arts Council. Register early for portfolio review sessions and one on one consultations.
This year’s roster includes contributing arts professionals:
Anonda Bell, director and curator of Rutgers-Newark’s Paul Robeson Galleries; Jeanne Brasile, curator and director of the Walsh Gallery at Seton Hall University; Lauren Haynes, Assistant Curator at the Studio Museum in Harlem; Martha Henry, Manhattan-based independent curator, art dealer and appraiser; Ben Jones, internationally exhibited fine artist and former professor at New Jersey City University; and Kymia Nawabi, Brooklyn-based multidisciplinary fine artist and winner of Bravo’s Work of Art (2012).
Panel Discussion:
“Public Art as a Tool: The Artist’s Role in Re-imagining the Urban Environment” moderated by Victor L. Davson and Linwood Olgesby (Executive Director of the Newark Arts Council) with Reina Shibata (Deputy Director of Percent for Art, NYC), Ibrahim Ahmed III (fine artist/muralist), Donald Ehman (NJ State Council on the Arts), Aaron Landsman (Creative Capital), Sheila McKoy (NJ Transit Arts Program), Tom Nussbaum (fine artist/public artist).
