Courses & MFA Concentrations Students entering the Master of Fine Arts Program at Rutgers-Newark will complete a 36 credit hour program completed in four (full time) to six (part time) semesters, as follows: 12 hours of intensive seminar Workshop in a specific genre (3 hours may be cross-genre, with dept. permission) 9 thesis hours in a specific genre (including 3 hrs of mentored "Writing in Conference") 15 hours of Literature courses (including 6 hrs of a chosen Electives Concentration)
